Plateau Learning Management System Selected For the Defense Intelligence Agency's Joint Intelligence Virtual University

Intelligence Community to Benefit from Highly-Scalable System That Will Increase the Quality and Timeliness of Training

Arlington, Va. • January 3, 2006 - Plateau Systems, a leading provider of software for developing, managing and optimizing organizational skills and talent, today announced that Plateau Systems has been selected as the learning management system (LMS) infrastructure for the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency's (DIA) Joint Intelligence Virtual University (JIVU). The learning management system used in phase one is being replaced by Plateau Systems' LMS because of the projects' heavy-usage, high-scalability requirements.

The virtual university is designed to increase the quality and timeliness of training for the intelligence community. DIA employees and civilian contractors can choose from a mixture of more than 300 courses, including distance learning modules. The courses cover such topics as counterterrorism and asymmetric threats. Courses are taken online from their students' desktops via secure networks. Instead of traveling to a central classroom, to listen to hours of lecture, a student can gain access to virtually the same instruction, at any time, and for practically no cost.
