Managing Regulated and Non-regulated Training at Millennium Pharmaceuticals
Joseph Horvath, Senior Director of Training & Documentation, Millennium Pharmaceuticals
Life sciences companies must be agile and efficient while also maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. In principle, the systems and processes that ensure compliance can also be those that promote efficiency and agility by delivering information at the moment of need. In practice, however, these systems are often more effective at maintaining and demonstrating control than they are at supporting performance. As a result, many companies have developed dual systems for common functions like training administration. Millennium sought to simplify their business, at least with respect to training, by establishing a single, common process for training administration and a single, validated learning management system (Plateau Learning) for use by all. In this presentation, they reflect on the challenges they faced, the approach they took, and the lessons they learned.
